Well, when we arrived I was very upset to find that the accommodations I thought I had arranged had not been the correct accommodates at all. I ordered a two bed room suite with a pull out sofa and when I arrived got a single room with two...[more]Well, when we arrived I was very upset to find that the accommodations I thought I had arranged had not been the correct accommodates at all. I ordered a two bed room suite with a pull out sofa and when I arrived got a single room with two queen beds and a pull out couch. I was travelling with 3 teenager and 2 youths and 1 toddler, along with 2 other adults. I really needed that extra room. So I ended up paying more and getting a 2 bedroom Suite, but they could only accommodate for 2 nights and the third night we all had to squeeze into the one room. Very uncomfortable to say the least. Now on the other hand, that was my only complaint. The children had a ball. To quote my 7 year old "This is the best hotel ever". They loved iceskating until 10pm, which was late night for younger ones. They meet alot of new friends and was in and out of the pools and game room all day. The first thing we noticed upon arriving to our room was all of the noise from the ice rink. We had no idea our room would be directly overtop. Our room was not cleaned ONE TIME (although the cleaning service came by it was at the worst t...[more]The first thing we noticed upon arriving to our room was all of the noise from the ice rink. We had no idea our room would be directly overtop. Our room was not cleaned ONE TIME (although the cleaning service came by it was at the worst time as we were all getting ready for our day but the never came back) Our room smelled and the elevators were excruciatingly slow so thank god we were on the third floor and could use the stairs (although one of us was 7 months pregnant). I have always stayed at a different hotel but they were booked and the only lesson I learned was that I should plan ahead more or I'll end up in a place like the Carousel. The hotel is located to many good restaurants in the area and avoids alot of the major crowds in OC. Close to theatres. Love the beach access and really surprized that free beach chairs of decent quality available every day.

This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel the 1st time we loved it but this time it was ok the cleaning people didnt clean our room until 4pm the first day and on our 2nd day the hot water was shut off all day then the hotel shut the cold...[more]

I asked to be updgrade for no additional charge but was denied. We were given another of the same type room non smoking. We then packed up and all our things and went to another room.
Bathroom was too small. The door hits you when you try to close the door. Kitchenette did not have plates, etc. If you bought those things with you, there was no place to store them.
When I got home I realized I left a hat in the room. I called the hotel to ask about the hat and was promised a call back. I have not received a call back yet.
Positive - The ice rink was enjoyed by the children who had never skated before. The help walker for them helped. The poolside bar served nice drinks and snacks. The convenience of the beach access and free chairs were very nice.
