Absolutely loved
We went on a mini vacation that we take every year for one my birthday for two its mothers day. This is the first time we have stayed at the grand hotel. Which had everything we wanted in a hotel. Customer service ia great. They called our room to see if we needed anything a couple times in the day. When we needed a roll away bed they delivered it within five minutes. Check in wasn't supposed to be at 4pm however our room was available early and let us checked in at 2pm. Will recommend to anyone. Hope I can afford the trip again next year for my family.

My stay at the Grand Hotel
I booked my stay at the Grand Hotel Via internet . I booked a smoking room for one night and the value of the room was good for off season rate. upon arriving I was informed that the hotel was smoke free even though when I booke on the internet the room was stated as a smoking room. I explained this to the front desk but I was told that I was mistaken. Did not argue at the time but was very disappointed that i booked a smoking room and was not allowed to smoke in my room or on the balcony. It appears that there is a disconnect between what is seen on the internet and what the hotel actually allows. I believe this is false advertising. Will this complaint help ? I guess i might hear back from this survey and maybe get some comp for my inconvience. Thank You.

Thanksgiving
We arrived on Thursday afternoon , we immediately booked into our room and from there nothing but the best in service , hospitality and cleanliness. All calls were anwered promptly by housekeeping and all very professional . Any call to front desk was pleasant and professional. We will definitely stay there again on our next trip.

Nice stay with a few hiccups
We liked the Grand Hotel. The room was very large, however there was very little counter space in the bathroom (actually there was none). There was a VERY noisy fan outside of our room that we did tell them about but they didn't seem to interested in fixing it. At least 3 of the soda machines didn't have water and one took our dollar (however we were reimbursed quite readily at the front desk). Customer service was good, Levi was very friendly at the front desk. We also loved the pool and accessibility of the pool bar.

Good weekend getaway
Enjoyed stay,The room was nice and clean. My only two complaints were that there wasn't a premium movie channel even though they had showtime movie guide on night stand. Also need to have full height shower on exterior of building instead of foot shower. Kids had to track sand into hotel.

Nice Views, but Disappointing
My hubby & I are over 60. We went to OC for Mother's Day weekend just to enjoy a short get-away and wander through Spring Fest. We chose The Grand because we had never been there and the reviews were excellent. Our room was nice, and the ocean view was spectacular. The indoor pool was not impressive, and the outdoor pool wasn't open yet. Location was great. However, the cleaning service was disappointing. On both full days we were there, our room had not been cleaned before we returned at 2:30 or 3:00. We like to relax before dinner, but couldn't. Maybe this was due to pre-season untrained staff, but we probably won't go back again.

Bathroom cleaniness
We stayed on fifth floor. I was room was wondering but I noticed on the first night the toilets were dirty. Luckily I had stuff to clean it myself. Also the maids did not give us more shampoo or soap the next evening. We also to complain to the front desk that someone was smoking on the "non smoking" floor we were staying at. Overall the rest of the stay was great, front desk very friendly and professional.

VALENTINES WEEKEND
W are not happy with the room nor the staff. It seemed like it was in the room. The staff was very polite but not very thorough in there initial checkin. They failed to provide advertized services including the Voucher for dinner and the turn down services. We repeatedly had to return to the fron desk to ask for these services. The 6th floor restaurant was clean but understaffed. The food was over cooked and seemed to be reheated. As we lay in bed at night we could hear people urinating in the bathroom of the asdjoining rooms or upstairs .We were unable to determine where it came from. This was disgusting and will prevent us from returning. This was our 2nd stay at the Grand and unless we are reinvited by the hotel we will not be returning. there are other hotels that take better care of the guests.

Would highly recommend this hotel
I have been to Ocean City about 30 times and I've never stayed at the Grand Hotel. We stayed this year for 3 nights (myself, my husband and my 1 year old son). I would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were very nice (the decor could use some updating) but it was extremely clean. We had a view overlooking the boardwalk and beach, it was great. The outdoor pool was very nice. The stores/lounge/coffee shop were all very nice -- loved being able to go down and get coffee and breakfast each morning without having to leave the hotel. The service was great, they gave us an early check in/late check out, which was very helpful when traveling with a 1 year old. We got a fantastic deal because it was after labor day, with a $60 restaurant rebate. I would definitely stay again...we will probably be back next year.

Our stay in Ocean City
We liked our room at the Grand Hotel and enjoyed the ocean view and balcony. There were numerous restaurants within walking distance or a short drive. One evening we played miniature golf which was great fun. On a rainy day we visited the outlet stores off Route 50 and found some excellent discounted apparel. We had dinner 2 evenings at B.J.'s on the Water at 75th St. and the bay in Ocean City. The food was very good and the price was reasonable. Our vacation was short but we enjoyed our stay in Ocean City.

Vacation time
The hotel was very nice and a great location. Unfortunately we were down there during the last 2 days of senior week DO NOT GO DURING SENIOR WEEK! The kids were obnoxious - although the hotel security did what it could to deal with any issues. The only real disapointment was the kitchen. Bring dish detergent with you as they do not give you clean cups on a daily basis. They also do not stock any dishware or silverware, only 2 coffee cups & 2 small glasses. Ok - so that's the negative; the positive is location, staff, amenities, etc. We had a nice relaxing vacation with a beautiful ocean view. THe staff was very courteous and helpful. I would stay here again - just not during any days of senior week.

I was expecting a room with carpet not a stone floor which was dirty at check in. I have been to Myrtle Beach and only paid half of the cost and had 2 bathrooms full kitchen including dishes cooking supplies. Don't get jacked on the poor reviews
I stay for pleasure and business and was OK with everything. The place is not the Ritz but is a very nice place to stay. The bad things were minor, yes the rooms carpet had rolls in it as I heard before. It didnt even bother me so I didnt care about that. Bag carts are few and far between there, the desk stated they had 200 check outs and only 25 carts. Simple math will get short a cart real fast. I was pleased with the price, after asking a few people including staff I had booked the best price throught this site. Most people paying ATLEAST 100 more a night then me. I was please with view very I was in a end unit 501 and could see evrything bay and most of the Ocean. I heard the bathroom was small, it is not that small unless your the size person needs to walk the steps. Check out was very easy woke to the bill under door and left by placing the keys on the counter and walked out. Parking was great...do wish they had cameras in the garage but oh well.

Not so Grand Experience at the Stowaway Grand Hotel
Family wanted a 'spring fever' weekend getaway and the prices offered online for the Grand seemed like a pretty good deal. I paid 108/night before taxes and the additional guest fee. It was the first time we had ever been to the Grand. The lobby was great, very large, nice sofas and friendly staff. It seemed like exactly what we were looking for. We got to our room which turned out to be very small, with barely enough room for the two double beds. The bathroom allowed only enough space for an adult to turn around. Counter space/sink space was non-existent. On top of that....there was an odor in the room that was almost nauseating. It smelled like something rotten or dead. My husband called the front desk to ask if we could have our room changed because of the odor. The desk clerk said that he would have to call our room back in a few minutes to let him know. So my husband, daughter, and I sat and waited, not wanting to get moving on anything because we would hopefully be changing rooms. After 30 minutes of waiting, my husband called again, and was put on hold for 5 minutes and passed to several different people to whom he had to explain the 'odor'. Finally, we were told to come down to the lobby and get the key to our new room. Personally, I think that out of courtesy they could have sent someone to us with the new key considering we soon found out that we were only moving 2 doors down. So we schlepped all of our stuff downstairs to the lobby, stood in line at the desk, exchanged keys, and schlepped everything back upstairs to the new room. This room was much better, no odor, larger bathroom, and a better view of the ocean. That was great! Let me also say that I love the Neutrogena bath products that the hotel supplies. The game room was extremely disappointing. Nearly all of the video games were adorned with an "out of order" sign. How can they honestly list the game room as a hotel amenity when aside from the air hockey and the large chess board, nothing is working? My daughter tried to play a pinball machine with no sign on it; it ate her money, so she made an “out of order" sign to attach to the front of it. Saturday evening a group of people several floors above us began throwing furniture off of the balcony. These items landed on our balcony and the deck in front of our room. Among the items: 2 white plastic resin chairs, 1 wooden desk chair, multiple towels, beer cans, plastic cups, cereal bowls and spoons. My husband spoke with security who assured him that they were aware of the problem and it was being taken care of. This was at 10pm on Saturday night. At this point, we were unable to use our balcony, unable to sit outside, and as the night wore on, unable to sleep as things continued to shatter on the deck outside of our room. On Sunday morning added to the debris were more broken chairs, more cans, and a football. At 11 am on Sunday morning, we observed hotel staff collecting the debris. This was more than 12 hours after we alerted the hotel to the problem. We got a late start on Sunday morning so my husband called the front desk to ask if there was a possibility of getting a 'late check out' time. He was told that check-out was 11. In addition to this he was told that if we checked out any later than 12 noon, we would be charged for 1/2 of the nightly rate. Wow. This left a bad taste in my mouth. I have never been told this at any hotel ever. I thought maybe they were booked for the upcoming night, so they weren't able to accommodate any late check outs. I went online to see what their room availability was for that night, and found that I could book up to 10 rooms with no problem at all. I guess availability wasn't the issue. That is just an odd policy, and not anything that I am familiar with at all. While my daughter was getting her things packed and ready to go, my husband and I ran upstairs to the hotel buffet breakfast. Please do yourself a favor and never waste your money on this. We were the only guests at the buffet, which should have alerted us from the start. They offered about 7 choices: scrambled eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, biscuits, sausage gravy, and pancakes. Sadly, every item was mediocre in taste and 100% cold. We paid the bill and were shocked that it was $22.95. 8.95/person plus they charged extra for the cranberry juice. What a total rip-off. Overall, I loved the beach front accessibility, the beach cafe open 24 hours was very convenient, the 60$ dinner coupon was very much appreciated. Other than that, the Grand left a lot to be desired as far as customer service goes. I have stayed in 100s of other places in Ocean City and haven't had nearly the problems. In retrospect, I should have gone with a tried and true hotel chain instead of being lured in by the cheaper per night price that the Grand offered. Lesson learned, you get what you pay for. (But even at that, I think the Grand owes me some money back)

Not so Grand Hotel
It was a less than "Grand" Hotel room: wrinkled carpet, torn-thread bedspreads,cheap furniture. We did have a great ocean-front view and very good maid service. Sleeping was difficult due to rowdy high school or college band guests. We did appreciate the champagne and rose petals which were part of the Romance Package.

Awesome Trip!
We had a great stay. To start we had to change our weekend at the last minute and the staff helped us change the date with no hassle. When we got there, the room was decorated with rose petals and the bottle of champane was in there as promised. We used our meal voucher to eat at Embers, which was great. Good food and something for everyone. We enjoyed are 2 night stay and are looking forward to more!

Fabulous!
My husband and I booked a Romance Package for the weekend. Everything was as expected or better! The view from their King Jacuzzi Suites was unsurpassed; you could see the Boardwalk, ocean, city and sound from our balcony! Even though there were events and conventions at the hotel, we were never bothered or disturbed by noise or other guests in any way. The room was spacious and clean. The Jacuzzi accomodated two adults easily and was wonderful. The front desk staff was courteous and polite. We didn't have our kids with us, but we looked around and found many kid friendly areas, like the game room, that would be ideal for families. There was only one amenity that was lacking...there were no movies or games to order on the TV and no DVD player, either. That was just a small inconvenience, though. I would definitely book this hotel again in a heartbeat!

There wasn't much to keep teenagers busy in the evening. MOst of the games by the pool were broken and the teenagers didn't want to go swimming because they felt the pool was dirty. Also there were lots of families there. You may want to think about specific times for family swim versus, adults vs. teens. It may make for a better experience. We will probably stay there again

Views were the selling point. Rooms are so-so.
The hotel was nice but it gives you the feeling of being outdated. The room we were in had not been renovated in some time and the carpet was pulling up in the center. The rooms were well insulated from the outside but you could hear movement from neighboring rooms. The view in our PREMIUM room was exquisite! Sadly, the indoor pool was closed during our stay so we didn't get to try it out. The hotel bar was quaint as we spent an evening there drinking and playing games. The hotel staff was pleasant. Overall, the view made the place great! The amenities were just average. Don't expect Marriott-quality.

VERY BEST STAY SO FAR!
They definately made this a great first Valentine's Day with my Fiance! The view was great, the room was very clean and the service was excellent! Weekend Getaway
Upon entering the hotel, the area was well kept and the front desk was very welcoming. We were able to check in early as our room was ready. The room was nice and clean. The sliding door to the balcony was tough to open and close...must be that salt air. Anyway, the room was well maintained and was comfortable. We had a good time.

Money well spent??
Location was awesome. Located at the top of the boardwalk. Rooms good sized. No couch or sitting area. Two beds and a small table only. On arrival front desk informed of leak in hall that caused tiles to fall from ceiling. On departure 7 days later the tiles were still missing and there was a ice bucket catching the water. Wall paper on the 8th floor peeling off the wall by the elevator exposing a mold problem behind it. Smelled musty and brown/green/black mold growing on wall. WiFi access only available in the lobby. No access in rooms which is a must for our family. Overall I booked this hotel thinking that it was going to be high end becuase of the price and pictures. Rooms and pool were a step above but sadly the rest of the premises were not.

Anniversary weekend
We Came for a short weekend. It was our anniversary. We came down for a remantic getaway with out our 2 young children. This was a very and happy weekend. Our hotel and room was beautiful, very spacius and located in a great area in Ocean City. We really really enjoyed our stay. We even were able to do some karaoke down in the lounge our first night. It was also convenient that their was a computer in the lobby that we could use anytime we needed to. I would definately come back to this hotel in the future with or without our kids. I feel that this hotel was a great hotel and it had a beautiful view of both the ocean and the bayside. We loved the everything about our stay. Thank you for making our stay wonderful. I will definately suggest this hotel to anyone I know and when we come back we will definately choose this hotel in the future. Our anniversary weekend will be memorable. Thank you

Hotel review
The location on the boardwalk was great. The room was very big and plenty of space for all our gear. I understand why the floor was tile, but it was dangerous for us. I have 2 young kids, ages 3 and 20 months. The 3 year old rolled off the bed and ended up with a black eye and the younger one slipped and fell and had a knot on his head from the hard floor. The tile floor was very slippery. Service was ok. We had one of the bellman offer to help unload our things and bring a cart, but he never came back to help after he offered. Otherwise, service was fine. The boys enjoyed the indoor poo. The day we arrived it was raining ,so we used the indoor pool and they loved it. I feel it was a poor value. For almost $300 a night for a room, one expects a certain level of luxury which just wasn't there, however, everything was nice and clean and well maintained. Overall, we probably would stay in this hotel again if we desired a location on the boardwalk.

not happy with hotel
i was not happy with the hotel for the price that we paid. there were beer cans in the pool. the atm machine was out of money and they did not seem the car. the java coffee shop only took cash. parking out front is suppose to be for trucks and big cars, we had a truck and there were cars all in the front lot. parking was not fun to find. i would not stay there again

It was a pleasent trip although not long enough. We really enjoyed the hotel and all that came with it. My young girls were very pleased and excited with all that was around. Left a day early!
I loved the location. Very easy access to the beach. I am very glad that I took my printout with my confirmation number when checking in to prove my discount, because without it I would have been charged full price! Had to leave a day early because my son was allergic to something in our room that really aggravated his asthma. Very convenient parking!

Grand Hotel
The room was large with plenty of room for a family of 5. We called for extra towels and never got them but we managed just fine. Housekeeping doesn't seem to replace styrofoam cups for coffee or the plastic cups so we took them from the cart ourselves. Those are the only complaints and I consider them minimal. It was wonderful to step out of the hotel directly onto the boardwalk. It is a quieter area of the boardwalk and I greatly appreciated that. Staff at the hotel were very friendly. The kitchenette in the room was perfect. A decent size fridge, microwave, small coffee pot and a sink. And there was plenty of counter and cupboard space. One tip, put out the "clean room now" doorsign when you leave so housekeeping tackles your room early. Otherwise you could be waiting til late afernoon for your room to be cleaned. One other thing, the hotel has virtually no literature in the lobby such as vacation guides or hotspots. The map they gave us had the visitor center at the wrong location so we never found it. There was a book in the room for dining options but it was from 2007-2008 so the prices were all wrong. We found a vacation guide on the Coastal Hwy side of Phillips restaurant which is directly across from the hotel. The vacation guide was very helpful for ideas on where to eat and what to do, specially when you have a family of 5 to pay for. Despite any of my complaints, I would definatley stay again at The Grand Hotel. I got a great deal and loved that all the rooms were oceanside. Granted we weren't directly oceanside but we still had a great view.

oc baby!!
We had such a great time and if you are looking to get away, April is perfect the weather is nice most places are open and it is still off peak so the rooms are way cheaper, not to mention you dont have to wait to be seated at your fav rest. The hotel lounge is awesome!!! Pool tables, megatouch, Karaoke and the bartender was wonderful!!! We will be back soon

The room was large and very clean - the pool was clean but a little on the cool side, the lounge had a very friendly atmosphere and the restaurant was a great value for breakfast. The room was great!! Much larger than i anticipated and very clean! The balcony wasnt private and you could fit through the large bars to go onto the next balcony. The customer service was good if you actually walk to the front desk but I tried calling to get extra pillows and called at least 8 times within a half hour and no one would pick up the phones!! My only other complaint is that the pool is kept extremely cold!! My kids couldnt even go swimming in the indoor pool it was kept so cold!!!
