OCEAN CITY

Upon arival at the Thunderbird Motel, we were unable to pull into the parking lot due to several groups of "young adults" who had decided to set up groups of lawn chairs in the parking lot leaving a few empty parking spots but no way o get to them! Since the office was not marked, we had to guess where that was. Fortunately, an employee checking us in moved our room from right in the middle of all the "fun" to the opposite end of the motel and we were told of extra parking behind the motel. In the end, it didn't matter where our room was as you can hear everything going on outside, not to mention what's going on in the next room. The rooms are extremely small (two people couldn't walk between the beds and dresser at the same time) and the bathroom was something out of my great grandmothers time. I had to look closely to see if the bathroom was just dirty or "stained". It was the later. The bed was so uncomfortable that neither one of us got much sleep either night we were there. Partly because of the bed and partly because of the noise from the next room and outside. There was no maid service on the second day of our stay which had been advertised that we would have. Did I mention that you could have opened the door with one good "push" after it was locked from the outside? I have never been asked to pay my entire bill up front but found out why they have that practice. I do have to say that the only positive point to the room was that the towels and sheets smelled like bleach so I felt that they were clean.
If you are a student on Spring break, go for it. We were disappointed especially since we stayed there due to some positive reviews.

I can't say enough about the motel everything was truly great. The cleanliness was second to non - a very important factor. The staff was friendly and very accommandating. Oceanside half block to beach. The only thing I missed was to be able to sit outside your room - pool area closed at 9p.m.

It's clean and in a good location. However, you get what you pay for and there are no frills... no hairdryers or irons.

We will definately return - good value, clean rooms, great location to everything. Did not realize the hotel was in such a perfect spot - very close to the beach, Jolly Roger park, resturants, etc. Will tell our friends!
