*Ocean City.com or Howard Johnson's misrepresented the reservation************ I registered with the OC.com site for an ocean front view, non smoking room. I am allergic to smoke severely. Received the confirmation by email that my room was confirmed by the hotel. I called Ocean City.com asking if it was ocean front/non smoking. I was advised yes, that's correct. I called the number that was listed on the reservation confirmation from Howard Johnson's (see attached photo) again I was told, yes I had an oceanfront, non-smoking room. When I got to the motel, I was told, I never spoke to them and even though I paid for an ocean front (I had the email reservation with me) through the Ocean City.com site, I was not getting an ocean front room and I had to take a smoking side view room due to that is what ocean city.com stated I wanted. I was advised that Ocean City.com does this all the time then expects the hotel to correct the errors. I called Ocean city.com that day and said what had happened and the gentleman said " what else can we say but sorry, we were wrong, but we can't do anything about it." I had advised the gentleman that the motel was unable to honor the request but would lower the amount of the stay, but the issue is I didn't get what I wanted and I am sick due to the smoking room. The gentleman said "I don't understand what is the problem, I see that they are working with you and have given you a lower price ..what more do you want?" I said "When you pay for a front view of the ocean/non smoking...I want a non smoking room, ocean front." Again I was told "Hey, the motel is working with you, what else can we tell you. I can't do anything more, I have apologized for the error that is all I can do." ******I did not appreciate the attitude or the arrogance of customer service representative I spoke to at Ocean City.Com. My husband and I was looking so forward to the ocean front view for our getaway..Someone misrepresented themselves, they admitted they misrepresented themselves and did nothing to correct the issue except for saying "Sorry". **Not being able to breath/sick and coughing all the time is not romantic! **Sincerely, Deborah

We have stayed at this HJ for the pasted couple years. The staff are the best in OC. Can not wait to see the new pool and rooms. We understand they will be very nice. Will plan a trip there in the Spring just to check it out.

the cleaning people did not even clean the coffee pot, the sprinkler above the bed were full of dust,. very difficult to get food down at the starbocks or pizza place( no one was around)

Ok the room was great, but the fan in bathroom didn't work.. Air contioner was new and worked great. Call before had and had questions on the room and was not given the corect info., other than that the service was great.I would have liked to know that there was a stove and accomdations.

All staff was very friendly with the room being very clean everyday. I was a disappointed in the room's look. It was pretty outdated and in need of fresh paint and carpeting. Kayaks weren't available for renting at the bayside beach. The pub onsite had no waitress help on Friday evening around 9pm.

It was a girls weekend out I took co-workers and my youngest daughter we enjoyed the room and the wonderful view we had we aso took advantage of the ice skating rink and the wonderful resturant which had excellant food we had also meant some great people while we were there for bike week. This was a great short vacation because my two co-workers have never been to Ocean City at all. They had a great time and want to make it a year thing.

In general this property is very dated, as many of the properties along the shoreline look. The photos at their web site are clearly from way back when as nothing looked quite as pristine in person. At least it was on the beach. Other than that, it was a total bust in practically every category.

The carpet in the hallways was filthy. The shower curtain was mildewed and smelled like urine. For the price i paid i was looking forward to a clean room and upscale hotel. I would really be mad if it wasn't for the after Laborday discount. I certainly hope these problems will be corrected!

Hotel is clean and the location is in the heart of the boardwalk. I stay in hotles about 50 nights per year and the mattres the worst I have experiencd. Other that all was OK. Two out of five stars.

We enjoyed our stay and wanted to extend it but were unable. The staff was prompt and courteous when we requested anything. We were impressed with the phone call from the guest services desk asking if everything was to our liking. We would recommend more detail be paid to having the tub cleaned better. Also, our balcony on the floor needed swept. The grass area is wonderful with the chairs to lay out on but it really needs regularly cleaned from trash and cigarette butts that the entire oceanfront rooms on the upper floors flick into the grass. We appreciated being left alone also as we are private people. Thank you and we would stay at your hotel again as well as recommend it to others. Diana and Charles Hughes

Not worth the money. Had a problem with the room smelling like wires burning, reported it they did nt care. The mans answer was this must have been a party room last week.Just what i want to hear. Smell was still there when we left. Asked for Oceanfront couldn't see the ocean past the trees. Will not return to that hotel and we go every year. Will not recomend it to anyone. It really needs an overhaul dirty and loud. Who wants music blasting under there window all day.

this was the worst hotel ever. we changed room three times in four days. views were absolutely horrendous. no thought put into room views at all. smell from the garbage downstairs reaked upstairs, dumpsters unloading at 6:00 a.m., dirty, disgusting carpets, sticky handrails, unpleasant customer service, need i go on? hotel from hell

We really enjoyed our time in Ocean City. Our favorite thing about choosing the Hotel Monte Carlo was its location -perfect for people who want easy access to the beach and acces to the boardwalk. The only things we could ask the hotel to improve on are new matresses (we both left there with sore backs) and more sheltered parking. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definatley go back.

We had a good time over all. But the bartender at the restaurant inside HJ hotel almost ruined our stay. @ about 5PM on the 2nd of September I sat on the bar while my husband went to use the restroom. I was ready to order our drinks, but she did not even look at me. Then my husband came back to find out she didn�t bother to ask me if I wanted anything. She continued to totally ignore us. She served a couple that came later. My husband was ready to just get up and leave�I insisted on staying getting my drink. I said can we please get some service? She had the nerve to tell me that she thought I was waiting!!! Waiting for what? She should acknowledge my presence. How about the long wait since my husband got back? We could have understood if she was busy, but she only had about 4 couples including us. We had planed to eat dinner there that night, but after that experience we decided not to bother. I hate to use the race card but that was definitely a racist treatment. The front desk stuff also could use some training on hospitality.

We had a wonderful weekend to end the summer with. The place was nice and the location to boardwalk was great. We had one problem with a rowdy room but after calling down to the head desk in the middle of the night it was taken care of in the morning when the manager arrived. The neighbors were kicked out, which showed me how much they appreciate there other tenants. The manager was wonderful. We would go back for sure!

He did this twice. Obviously he couldn't find his room. I think there should be more security in the hallways.

The hotel was okay. It did not have as many kid activities as I was lead to believe. The beds are extremely uncomfortable and the floor in the room was so dirty that our feet were black within minutes of taking our socks off (I've heard other people had that problem as well). I found the oceancity.com website to be completely unresponsive as they never once answered any of my emails regarding questions about my reservations. Due to this fact and the fact that there is not one customer service phone number for oceancity.com, I would never use this website again for anything!

The hotel was not as nice as ad. Had an ant problem in first room. Second room had peeling wallpaper on the ceiling and bedspread had a gritty substance. Hallway and elevator carpet had wet smokey odor. Some housekeeping staff did not speak English, had to show them what we needed. Eventhough the reservation was for three we had to request additional towels and cups.

Thought this would be nicer from online pictures but we were terribly disappointed. Over-priced, hidden charges (crib $15 per day, which was stained and smelly), carpet was filthy, no water pressure, leftover food in kitchen, smelled like crab legs, couch smelled like toxic chemicals. All of my 4 children developed fevers and sore throats while there and are still sick, mattress made my husband feel like he was in a car accident, elevator was slow, online photos were really misleading. Pool was disgusting, even worse - pool restrooms.

We had reserved a non-smoking room and clearly stated that we had a small baby on board. However we got a very "smokey" room. I called the front desk and they said it was a "NON-SMOKING" room, I don't see how. Anyways, they did not offer to switch room but instead gave us this "noisey" air purifier that ran for our entire staying there. Everybody that came into our room said the room "stinks" so badly. After we got home, we realized that all our clothes smell like smoke. I think the customer service should have done a lot better than that. Especially we clearly stated that we had a small baby on board. For that, it sucks!

We were not happy on the first day because the check in was an hour later than it should be. The check in time is at 4pm, so it was already late in the day before we can start on our vacation. I was expecting more from the hotel for the price we paid. We will not go back next time.

I would never stay at Carousel again. It was the worst experience that I have had with staying at a hotel. Our room faced the loading dock on one side and the ice skating rink on the other so it was horrendously noisy ALL the time. I had headaches from the noise and the horrible stench in the room from it being a smoking room and the only room avaialble. I spoke to the manager about it and he just said he was sorry but next time, I should try and stay in the condos. No CUStomer service at all.

The room was a JOKE. It was too small, And this was suppose to be a "sweet". The kitchenette was a bigger joke, coffee maker in room was for one cup at a time. Pots and pans with no utensils. Couch was from 1980 and very lumpy. Lets just say I WON'T be staying here ever again.

for the efficinacy room it would be nice to have some cleaning stuff and pots and pans that are usable and clean and proper set was provided. pots and pans were dirty and not the kind that one would cook in that.

The motel was close to attractions and the board walk. The room either needs new carpeting or a very good steam cleaning. The motel is old and in need of repair. Not enough hot water was available in the AM. We had to clean out the frig, before we could use it. It had water all inside on the trays. Not enough towels for four adults. For all this it was a bit over priced.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Carousel. The accomodations were just great. We thought that the restrictions at the indoor pool was a bit restraining. Your requirement that someone 18 or older must be in the pool area with anyone under 18 is a little restrictive. My grandsons are both 14 and very good swimmers. The maximum depth was 5 ft and their both over 5 ft. Meant that I had to give up a lot of time just sitting in the pool area with your attendants staring into space.

Housekeeping and Valet staff were awesome. Room service, Restaurant Bell staff could use some customer service training. I thought having to rent ping pong paddles at the pool was a little much. The view was awesome and the pool area was great.

From the website we were a little disappointed with the family suite. The web site had the room built up to be better than it actually was. The pool and grounds were nice and the staff were helpful but the room smelled bad and we had ants in the kitchen area.

The Manager and Staff were nice and helpful. The rooms could use some paint. The furniture is old and stained. For the money it was a good value. We had to change rooms the second night because we wanted to stay an extra day but there were a lot of flies and we couldn't figure out where they were coming from. Don't look for any amenities. There are no phones or ironing boards, and no pool but there is a small fridge and microwave. It was only a block from the beach, but the Boardwalk is six blocks away. If I had to I would stay there again but next year we plan at staying closer to the Boardwalk.

Nice Motel. We had a wonderful time @ Ocean City as we always do. The Econo Lodge was fine. Helpful, courteous staff - including the cleaning folks. Would go there again, but most likely out-of-season. Traffic was a mess.

Things I liked: Access to beach, pool, safe in room, fridge, cleaning service, bellman service. Things I did not like: No exhaust in shower - made it very steamy for a family of 4 trying to take showers. Terrible shower head - hard to work and not adjustable. Loud A/C unit - kept us up at night, especially when compressor kicked in. Beds very hard. Several dresser drawers were broken - couldn't use. Drawers were dirty upon arrival.

We loved our stay. The room, customer service, and pool was lovely. After a day on the sandy beach my kids had sand everywhere and the hotel attendant came and helped me get up the sand. She was wonderful. my only problem is my husband and I have 5 children, age 15 and under and we were only able to bring 4 of them cause you only allow 6 per room and there are 7 of us. I didn't want my husband to have to stay in another hotel suite. Things only worked out because my 13 yr old son has given me problems this year. Thank you for everything

We stayed at the Hotel Monte Carlo because it was located close to the boardwalk. The rooms were nice, the place was clean and the location was terrific. The rooftop pool and hot tub were very nice. Drawbacks included only one elevator for 6 floors and very, very narrow parking lots for SUV's.

I've stayed here before, and my experiences were much better. They messed up our reservations right off the bat, so we had to wait longer to get to our room so they could change the accommodations. I feel like the customer service was worse than usual, and the place just didn't feel as clean. They had water problems all night, so the water in the bathroom sink kept randomly turning on and off in the middle of the night. Compared to what I expect from the Princess Royale, I have to say that I was disappointed.

The front desk manager is very rude, she would not even allow us to use the desk phone to book a tee off time at a local golf course. No sense of customer service at all. Front desk staff was clueless and were all teens from out of the country there for the summer.

We loved the hotel - we have stayed in several places in Ocean City, and this was the best yet. The pool on the roof was a great attraction to my kids, and the indoor pool, though smaller, was a perfect escape from the hot sun in August. The location can not be beat! Parking seems to be a complaint to many people, but they have obviously never been in Ocean City - they complain about walking across the street? wimps! Some places offer NO parking, so you have to drive for blocks to find one, and then hope your car doesn�t get towed. The staff was more than great. Our air conditioner was leaking (due to improper installation when the building was built), and within 5 minutes after notifying the desk clerk (for their information only), we had a key to a new room! I have no complaints, and nothing but good to say about this place - I have a new home in OC!

For the most part - for what we paid - it was not as upscale as I would have thought - the rooms are very dated, the bath exhaust did not even remotely work, sliding glass door in our room would not open, central air did not run properly, and for the amount of money the hotel charged - it was very overated.

Our family decided just to go for one night, 2 days. It was extremely hard to find a hotel for just one night!! I wish there were more to choose from for 1 night. The hotel room itself was ok; however, our tv was malfunctioning so it took forever to find a station. The bathroom was very small. For a quick stay not bad, it was right on the beach so that was convenient.

It was our first time in Ocean City and we loved our stay!First of all,the receptionist when we checked in was courteous and accomodating.We didn't have any difficulties with our reservation.We also liked the location being close to the beach.The room was nice and best of all was being able to borrow beach chairs,towels,and umbrella for free! We would surely recommend it to our friends and we would stay in the hotel again if we should ever go back there!

The hotel was fine. They had a water main issue though on our 2nd full day of 4 days booked. There was no water for about 3 hours while they tried to fix something. During that time their public restrooms continued to be used and were ultimately quite disgusting. The water came back on around 5pm but within an hour they had a major water main break on the 2nd floor. The hotel had to be evacuated for about 90 minutes. Once we were let back in our choices were to checkout with no further obligations and to not have to pay for the day that was partially used OR you could stay, pay 50% for the day and you were obligated for the rest of your stay. We decided that we really had little choice but to leave given that they did not have water nor A/C and did not know for sure when they would. I feel like their on-site staff was very courteous, informative, honets and upfront about what was going on but from a corporate standpoint, I think more of a remedy was justified. I realize that things like this can happen but we had a 4 day window to get in our semi-regular summer OC vacation but given that we have small children and we had a senior citizen with moderate health problems, being without water or AC from dinner time until the sleeping hours of the late evening and into the early morning were not really a valid alternative and thus, we had to cut our family vacation short. We would still consider going back.

This was a last minute trip and there was not much available in the area. The hotel appeared to be half decent and very close to the beach, so we booked it. Unfortunately, we found the room itself to be far to small to accomodate our family of 5 (3 very active children - 6/3/9mo). You could tell our room had not been updated in quite some time, peeling wallpaper, cracked trim, cracked tiles in the bath. The small kitchenette was sufficient. The front desk staff was very helpful and the pool was fine. The spa was very small and not clean. Parking was a nightmare as the spaces were not plentiful and very small. This made parking and getting in/out of a large vehicle very challenging. Honestly, hotel was OK. But, we would not book another stay here.

outlets were hanging out of the wall with no plates over them, all furniture was molded and had water damage at the bottoms, bathroom was tiny and had dirt between all the tiles and was in desperate need of caulking. We have a 19 month old daughter and was appauled that she had to stay in these conditions for 3 nights - especially for the price we paid for this room! We will never stay at a howard johnsons again nor will we refer anyone to this hotel.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Princess Royale. The front desk people were very nice and helpful and the people staying there were also friendly. We would change a couple of things. First, when you complete the questionnaire in the room about things that need their staff's attention it would be appreciated if the questionnaire was actually taken from the room. A couple of items were requested and not only the note not taken but the items weren't left (i.e. extra shampoo bottles and towels were requested and the sliding screen door was off and just leaning against the door). I know these things may not seem important, but when you are paying a high premium for a room a little extra assitance isn't asking too much. Also, the elevators are very slow and hot especially when you've arrived at a floor, the doors take forever to open. If the open worked as well as the close they would be perfect. Last but not least are the therapuetic beds. Whether it is the bed or the pillows, unfortunately those were the worse 4 nights of sleep I've had in a while. Both myself and my husband believe that if you have that sort of bed, down pillows would be beneficial or go back to the old fashion mattresses. Again we did enjoy our stay, but we would probably not stay there again. An outdoor pool would also benefit them too. The indoor pool seemed to be highly chlorinated and cloudy. We had to leave on the second night due to a family emergency at home. I spoke to the PM front desk supervisor and he said to call in the morning and speak to a manager and that it should be no problem at all to get my money back. I called yesterday and spoke to the woman and she would not give me my money back unless I faxed them a copy of the obituary. I did not appreciate this during my family's time of need and hardship. I resent being told that I would get my money back by one supervisor, and the other supervisor not following through with that. It really left a bad taste in our mouths about Ocean City, and particularly this hotel. We will never be staying at this hotel again, and we defineatly would not reccomend it to others!

It was okay. First night the room stuck we could not stay in tat room but that gave us another room. The toilet was shaky when you sat on it and the toilet paper holder was coming out of the wall so you had to hold it everytime you would pull the paper. But other than that it was alright. But I will not stay there again because it was too much money for the room with everything wrong with it.

It was just OK. The sliding glass doors opened to a very small area to sit. And the ocean view from our room was hardly an ocean view. Would you believe someone in the room adjacent to us reached over to our balcony and helped themselves to one the chairs on our balcony. The kids running the halls didn't help this to be worth the extra money that was spent on this hotel. I guess one of the many kids decided to play a joke and turned our door hanger from srvice room now to do not disturb. And to our surprise our room was never serviced on Thursday, July 5th. We were out all day and into the evening only to arrive back around 11 PM to find our room was not cleaned. I'm sure we are not the only people that this has ever happened to, but there should be a system in place to follow up when a don't disturb is hanging on a door knob for an extended period of time. Overall things were OK, but not up to what we expected.

We did not like the elavator, it felt like you were going to get trapped or it was going to break down. We were very disapppointed with our stay for the amount of money we paided to stay one night. Very bad experience and we will not stay there again!

The room was average, but clean. The roof top hot tub had room for 3 or 4 people. The outdoor pool was shallow and small. The indoor pool was even smaller, bath tub size. Upon check-in, the attendant had no customer service skills. Off-site parking was very tight, spaces were small. Location is great for those who wish to be close to the boardwalk attractions. Lobby smelled of Subway sandwiches.

The plus side: Location of the hotel was great (right on the boardwalk). The rooms were nicely set-up. The daily entertainment (dj) by the pool area was good. Although it had a restaurant; we did not eat there. Down side: The people at the front desk weren't very friendly, I felt like we checked in and out through a drive thru. We weren't too pleased with our room service, they didn't do any sweeping or vacuming of the floors and one day we didn't get any room service at all. Would we go there again? Probably not.

It has been 16 years since our last stay at Ocean City. I have to say the boardwalk hotels still are not as nice as they should be. They need to be knocked down and rebuilt, there just to old. They bayside of Ocean City has really built up and it is impressive. We really like the boardwalk if the hotel's were nicer. I have to say if we go any time soon we will probably stay on the bayside, there are tons of condos. We did have a good time and Philips By the Sea is still my favorite dining experience. The hotel cost is outragous for the hotel you get. I spoke to another lady in the same hotel, if she wasn't lying, she booked the same place for $60.00 less than I paid. This is just not fair. She agreed the Bayside is nicer for the money.

When we first arrived we were put in a room that smelled horrible, the lights did not work, the remote on the tv did not work, the balcony was at street level and there was no privacy. After I brought our complaints to the attention of management, they said they were completely booked at first. They then called their manager. She said to fix all the problems in the room, credit out bill with a 10% savings and move us to another romm the next morning (when a room was vacated). All the above happened and we were in another room before noon the next day. The management went out of their way to solve all our complaints. I have to say that I would recommend the hotel on the actions of the management. The prices, however, were high when compared to other beaches I have stayed at. We have been traveling a lot the last 5 years (3-4 vacations per year). These prices were over what we paid for a very nice suite of rooms (beachside) in Hawaaii last year. Because of the prices, I probably will not go back to Ocean City. When we left, the Saturday before a holiday week, the hotel was only about a third full, so I think others are feeling the price pinch also.

I was pleased w/my stay at the Carousel. My husband and I took my 5 yr old son there for a long weekend, June 1-3rd. It was not crowded at all, and I didn't once run into a rude employee. I've read other reviews where the employees were rude... but I personally did not run into any. Our ocean front room was very big, with a nice view. I would probably stay here again.

I liked the Temperpedic mattress. I hated the pool because of the followings. - all beach traffic were directed to the 2nd floor through the pool area. - it feel like the pool is for those people who stayed at the pool side rooms. It was a great dis-appointment for the closure of the mini-golf court. The sign in elevator should be removed. The shower was really great, but the all water drainage system seems to be very poor that might be the result of bringing beach sand into rooms. The bath sink, kitchen sink, and toilet all seem to be malfunctioning. At last the parking lots were very poorly designed.

I have stayed at this hotel before. The suite was clean and sufficient. Customer service could use some help. I told registration I was paying for my stay with cash. The young lady immediately ran my credit card through and announced that it had declined! I repeated that I was paying with cash. I was also not allowed to use a coupon I had printed from their website because I had booked through this one. It was only $25, and there were no restrictions on the coupon stating where the hotel had to be booked. They should have just let us use it. It was also difficult just getting coffee to go with the coffee maker in the room. The gentleman seemed annoyed with my request at the front desk. He gave me the coffee, and when I asked about cream and sugar, he went into the office and never returned! This is all silly stuff but it can really affect your stay. Our housekeeper Ana was outstanding!

We all enjoyed the hotel. We had one problem though. One of my friends who stayed with us in the room accidentilly left some clothes, including a brand new, never worn (still had tags on it) bathing suit, in one of the dresser drawers. When she realized her mistake, she called your hotel and asked if they had been found. She was told the room had not yet been cleaned but to call back again. When she called back again, she was directed to a Security manager named Steven. Steven informed my friend that the cleaning staff was very professional and would never take anything that was found. He then went on to tell my friend that she should check with "the people that you stayed with to see if they took your clothes. Maybe your friends aren't as trustworthy as you think". I am quoting him because that is what he said. I am quite upset that anyone would say that, let alone an individual that would be given the title of Manager of Security. I was very disappointed by this because we would have liked to plan on staying at your hotel again in the future, but I am afraid that we will not be because of this experience. I will say that the rest of your staff, in particularly at the front desk, were very cordial, professional, and informative. Thanks.

the gentleman who ran the hotel was is the parking lot sending people home who where not registared as they should but he also entered my room because the door was cracked and it was only my sister and i in the room im sorry but i don't think this man should of been entering my room without permission since he did not knock and just walked in i told him i could of been changeing his remarks where well your not and to me this is just not right i will never stay here again and will tell everyone i know not to ever stay there.

It was a nightmare. When we got there they told us we needed to pay a $500 cash security deposit. First of all we were not aware of this at all. I called the hotel twice a week before our stay to ask about a security deposit they didn't say we had to put one down. Second, a cash deposit is unacceptable, it should have been on a credit card like all other hotels. The second day we were there the manager overheard us complaining about this decided to evict us. He gave us 10 minutes to get our stuff and check out or we wouldn't get our deposit back. They charged us for two nights even though we only stayed one. We did receive our deposit after he checked our room. We also received a trespassing warning from the manager the Ocean City Police. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. Thankfully, we went to the conference center and Jane found us another hotel (harrison hall) for the amount of money we got back. She also gave us a complaint form to fill out, which we did and turned in before we left Ocean City.

It was resonably priced and close to beach and boardwalk, the door to the balcony didn't lock and having young kids this was a bit concering to me.

The Hotel was in the perfect spot for us on the Boardwalk. It was close enough to everything but far enough enough from the busiest sections. Great hotel, Great location and Great pool (we loved the DJ). I do wish the rooms were a little larger but it wasn't like we spent much time inside

I took my 13 year old daughter 2 of her friends, as a celebration for her 13th birthday over a long weekend. The room was comfortable, and the girls were right at home. We used the ice skating rink on both evenings that we were there and had a blast. Parking out front was easy everytime we came back from whatever we were doing. Since it was so nice out, we were out and about OC and did not get to try out the pools or the beach-side amenities. For folks who go to sleep earlier, the activities in the atrium, which includes the ice skating rink, and the other hotel amenities, you can hear this activity until everything closes up at about 10:30. We are all late nighters, so it was no issue for us, and things quiet right down at about 10:30. It was really enjoyable...

We were very pleased with our stay at The Thunderbird Hotel. It was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were a little outdtated but not bad. I would stay there again. Front desk employees were very nice.

The actual stay at the Kings Arms motel was fine...It was myself and three friends just going to have fun on memorial day weekend. It was nice to be close to the board walk and the hotel was really inexpensive. Everything was clean in the room, but the shower wasn't that great and the ceiling appeared to have rust on it. The biggest probelm that i had was booking the hotel. i filled everything out online and never received confirmation from the hotel in writing until the day of our stay, which made me really nervous. I had to call them numerous times to confirm our stay. They confirmed over the phone once and continued to tell me I'd be receiving written confirmation, which never came. I didn't mind the facility since their hotel rates were so inexpensive, but a gurantee that you have a place to stay would have been nice.

my friend and i got a fairly cheap room, so we did not complain but i would not have paid more then $70 for it. The room was very clean and spacious, however there were a few problems, the toilet leaked from the back and there was a broken overhead light.

The room I felt could have easily been cleaner. There was some sort of green gooey substance on one of the "clean" clothes in the bathroom, my 5 yr old found a couple potato chips along the base of the bed w/ants crawing on and when I left my laptop on the floor overnight ...there were about 10 more ants crawing throughout the keyboard. There are other pickier things I could say but my overall feeling is that things "within reach" are all that is cleaned. I also understand that most of the hotels, in the type of resort area Ocean City is, are this way because people are going to continue to travel there no matter what. I just hate having to deal with cleanliness issues when I specifically try to choose hotels where I think it should not be an issue.

Nice staff, good location, too cold to go into the pool but it was OK - jacuzzi was broken. It would have been nice if there was a baby pool but you can't have everything. I got a free hotel night from the time share presentation and this was it. Nice little coffeeeshop attached to main hotel. Judging from the jungle carpet - must have been a Howard Johnson's restaurant when this place opened in 1980. Overall - 4.1/5
